Event Equipment recently had the pleasure of delivering Audio Visual for the prestigious decommissioning of HMAS Tobruk at Garden Island in Woolloomooloo.
The event was delivered in two parts, a morning parade and an evening cocktail celebration.
Decommissioning of HMAS Tobruk 002
At the decommissioning ceremony we used a QU Digital audio console, Large RCF PA and various Sennheiser wireless Microphones to deliver crisp sound, clearly amplifying the Navy’s message to a large crowd of ship crew from past and present.
But it’s once the sun had gone down that our AV really came out to play, with spectacular lighting, sound and projection taking the celebrations from day to night.
A 20k Lumen Panasonic projector told the story of Tobruk, relaying large, clear images from the Landing Ship’s 34 years of service and when the impressive Navy Jazz band swung into action our PA system did too, filling the marquee with those bold brassy sounds that got everyone off their seats and onto the dance floor. The entire scene was spectacularly lit with LED Parcans, Martin Mac101’s and Robe 700’s adding a hint of glamour.
What a great send off for the crew of HMAS Tobruk. The team at Event Equipment were proud to be involved and help make the event a success
